Opened in April 2025, Genesis Cheongju is the brand's fifth dedicated showroom in Korea — following locations in Hanam, Gangnam, Suji and Anseong — and serves as its first presence in the Chungcheong region. Layering Heritage and Innovation

The overall design concept of Genesis Cheongju is “Layers Woven with Empathy”. The concept draws on the Korean notion of layering, symbolizing the accumulation of shared experiences and relationships with guests, while also evoking the idea of igniting a new cultural chapter. Cheongju's rich regional heritage, represented by craft cultures such as “Jikji”[1] and “hanji,”[2] is delicately woven throughout the spatial design to connect with Genesis' own design philosophy of craftsmanship.

Through a modern reinterpretation of traditional Korean architectural concepts, the showroom expresses a sense of understated authenticity. The first-floor canopy is a modern take on “cheoma,”[3] while the upper structure draws inspiration from Gyeonghoeru, the royal pavilion at Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. Inside, the third and fourth-floor Brand Cubes capture the essence of “jeongja,”[4] and the sensory feel of hanji.

Beyond Retail: A Community-Centered Experience

Genesis Cheongju transcends conventional showroom design by cultivating a vibrant cultural community. FRANKFURT, Germany, July 16, 2026 —Genesis’ first all-electric high-performance car, GV60 Magma, has joined the enhanced Genesis G70 sporty saloon, expanding the brand’s successful Nordschleife Track Taxi program.

The public will be able to experience the thrilling performance of the new Genesis GV60 Magma before it officially arrives on the road in Europe later this year.

Launched in 2024, the Track Taxi program offers passenger rides around one of the world’s most famous and technically demanding racetracks. Germany’s Nürburgring is 20.832 kilometers long, with 73 complex corners and a constantly changing road surface.

Introducing GV60 Magma to the program is the next chapter in our growth strategy as we continue to invest across Europe. Since the program’s inception, nearly 3,000 Genesis guests have been driven around the Nürburgring in one of two modified G70 cars; the saloon was chosen as the first Track Taxi for its dynamic drivability and performance personality. With a professional Genesis driver at the wheel, passengers experienced the sporty saloon’s 272-kilowatt, 510-newton-meter 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 and thrilling 5.4-second 0–100 kilometer-per-hour acceleration.

In total, the two G70 cars — which will continue to be used alongside GV60 Magma — have completed 1,300 laps of the racetrack, equivalent to 27,081.6 kilometers, using more than 180 sets of tires. The duo, chosen for the program due to their dynamic drivability and performance personality combined with excellent track composure and passenger comfort, are a compelling demonstration of robust engineering, outstanding build quality and long-term reliability.

Now, guests can also enjoy a new all-electric Track Taxi Nordschleife experience in the GV60 Magma. Featuring two enhanced electric motors – one per axle – that each spin to over 20,000 rotations per minute, and an all-wheel drive configuration, the performance SUV has a powerful output of 478 kilowatts and 790 newton-meters. 

With Boost Mode activated, the GV60 Magma can accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 3.4 seconds, reaching 200 kilometers per hour in only 10.9 seconds. Top speed is achieved at 265 kilometers per hour. 

To manage this impressive performance, the GV60 Magma is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires and a unique braking system that is equal to the demands of its high-output powertrain. It combines performance-optimized regenerative braking control with large 400-millimeter disc brakes, monoblock calipers and an Anti-lock Brake System to produce enough stopping power to bring the car to a halt from 100 kilometers per hour in just 33.8 meters. 

Key to the GV60 Magma’s dynamic character is a state-of-the-art torque vectoring system, which has been designed to ensure the car’s movements remain predictable and intuitively controllable, even under the extreme driving conditions of the Nordschleife.

Additionally, an electronic Limited-Slip Differential will work alongside the torque vectoring system to actively distribute torque between the front and rear motors to reduce understeer and oversteer, important when tackling the Green Hell.

To add to the experience, the GV60 Magma has a specifically developed electric Active Sound Design system that delivers a lifelike and authentic engine tone. Front-seat passengers will also experience Genesis’ new 10-way bucket seat, unique to GV60 Magma, which has been designed for improved support and comfort during high-performance driving.

Genesis X Skorpio Concept: Fearless Exploration Meets Extreme Off-Roading

Revealed globally earlier this year in the Rub’ al Khali “Empty Quarter” desert in the UAE, the X Skorpio Concept is Genesis' first extreme off-road vehicle. SEOUL, Nov. 19, 2025 — True luxury isn’t just about sophisticated design and cutting-edge technology; it’s about safety. More than a luxury vehicle, Genesis is a sanctuary where advanced safety features and exceptional craftsmanship come together to create an elevated driving experience.

Several of the marque’s models have been independently recognized for their safety features, passing the most strenuous safety testing with flying colors. Most recently, six Genesis models were recognized for their excellent safety performance by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). 

Independently Recognized

The IIHS awarded the 2025 GV60, 2025-26 GV70 (built after April 2024), 2025-26 Electrified GV70, 2026 G80 (built after June 2025) and 2025 GV80 models the 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) rating. IIHS also awarded the 2025 Genesis G90 the 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) rating. IIHS awards only apply to U.S. models.

But what is the IIHS and what do these ratings mean? The IIHS is an independent, nonprofit scientific and educational organization dedicated to reducing deaths, injuries and property damage from motor vehicle crashes through research and evaluation and through education of consumers, policymakers and safety professionals.

Based on a vehicle’s performance in crashworthiness tests (small overlap front, moderate overlap front: updated test, and side: updated test) as well as crash avoidance and mitigation tests (headlights and front crash prevention: pedestrian), the IIHS assigns a rating for each test.

To qualify for 2025 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK, a vehicle must earn good ratings in the small overlap front and updated side tests and an acceptable rating in the updated moderate overlap front test. It also must earn an acceptable or good rating for pedestrian front crash prevention and come with standard acceptable- or good-rated headlights.

Earning the 2025 IIHS TSP and TSP+ awards positively promotes Genesis’ reputation as a manufacturer of safe vehicles in the U.S. market. This is because American consumers trust the IIHS’s scientific and systematic safety evaluation methods. 

Raising Safety Standards

Earning these ratings is becoming increasingly challenging, as the IIHS’s evaluation standards have become more stringent over the past few years. In 2023, IIHS increased the weight and speed it uses in the side impact test. The same year, a nighttime vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention evaluation was added. In 2025, IIHS updated the criteria to earn the 2025 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK awards, including the requirement of better protection for second-row occupants.

Genesis welcomed the new, tougher criteria and stepped up to the plate. A total of six Genesis models earned the coveted 2025 IIHS TSP and TSP+ ratings under the more stringent IIHS regulations in 2025 — the 2025 GV60, 2025-26 GV70 (built after April 2024), 2025-26 Electrified GV70, 2026 G80 (built after June 2025), 2025 GV80, and 2025 Genesis G90. IIHS awards only apply to U.S. models.

However, over in Europe, Genesis has also won top honors from the European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP). The Genesis G70, GV70, G80 and GV80 won “5-star” NCAP ratings in 2021, and the Genesis GV60 received a 5-star rating from NCAP in 2022.

Beyond Just Crash Testing

Genesis vehicles do well in independent safety evaluations because they are a part of a rigorous and comprehensive Group-level culture of safety technology development and testing. Before Hyundai Motor Group even releases a new model or submits it for outside testing, it tests it in-house at its R&D Center in Namyang, a 40,000-square-meter facility specifically designed and built in 2005 for thorough safety testing.

Within the Center, the Group spends about 4,000 hours and $7 million to run approximately 100 crash tests involving 27 different types of crash test dummies to make sure each new car model has the highest possible level of crash safety. The crash tests are only a small part of the safety testing process; most of the time is taken up in analyzing the crash results to extract meaningful insights. This data, combined with real-world accident reports from national highway and safety organizations worldwide, is used to develop and refine safety features, including innovations like the world’s first composite crash airbag developed by the automaker in 2019.

The result of all this testing is a comprehensive suite of preventative technologies that work together to reduce the likelihood of accidents. Here are some of the most notable safety technologies that can be found in Genesis vehicles:

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA):  Uses a combination of radar and front-facing cameras to scan the road ahead for vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and even oncoming traffic at intersections. If a potential collision is detected, the system issues visual and audible warnings to alert the driver. If the driver does not react to the warning sounds, FCA can apply partial or full braking to either mitigate or entirely avoid impact.

Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA): Uses radar sensors on the rear corners to monitor adjacent lanes for approaching traffic. If a vehicle is detected, a warning light appears in the side mirror and an alert sounds inside the cabin. If the driver ignores the warning and attempts a lane change anyway, the system can gently steer the vehicle back into its lane or, in some situations, apply selective braking to prevent a collision.

Advanced Airbags: Vehicles made by Genesis include 8-10 different airbags to protect passengers in a variety of potential collisions. Front airbags exist for both the driver and front passenger. Also included on the driver’s side is a driver’s knee airbag to prevent leg injuries in a head-on collision. Side airbags inflate between the driver and the door, and between the passenger and the door, to prevent injuries from side impact collisions. Between the driver and front passenger is also a center side airbag that pops in between the two seats, reducing the chance of first-row occupants hitting each other’s heads or other objects in the event of a side collision. Only 10 car models in the U.S. have this type of safety measure installed. There are also two rollover curtain airbags that deploy from both sides of the roof rails above the front and rear doors that further protect the heads of occupants in the car in the event of side impact collisions. They also deploy if a rollover is detected in models that have rollover sensors.

FRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 12, 2025 — The Genesis Electrified G80* was named the winner in the imported upper mid-size category at yesterday's Company Car of the Year 2025 awards ceremony. The prestigious award was presented at IAA Mobility in Munich.

The Company Car of the Year award recognizes the best vehicles for commercial use in 17 categories. A total of 266 models were nominated. An independent jury of fleet experts first selected three favorites per category and then, optionally, the best import models.

The specified fuel consumption and emission values are determined based on the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP). For vehicles newly type-approved since January 1, 2021, the official figures are only available according to WLTP.

FRANKFURT, Germany, Feb. 25, 2025 — Genesis Motor Europe has donated over €53,000 to the German children’s charity Aktion Kinder-Unfallhilfe e.V. 

The donation was made possible by the success of the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program and marks a crucial step in the ongoing development of the brand’s corporate social responsibility initiatives in Europe. The program, which returns to the Nürburgring in Germany on March 8, offers passenger rides to the public in a modified G70 at one of the world’s most thrilling racetracks.

“We are incredibly proud to support Aktion Kinder-Unfallhilfe e.V.” said Luc Donckerwolke, Chief Creative Officer of Genesis. “Safety is paramount at Genesis. Founded in 1998, Aktion Kinder-Unfallhilfe e.V. provides support to the youngest road users by helping young accident victims and promoting a variety of road safety projects. The association funds therapy facilities in clinics and rehabilitation facilities as well as horse riding therapy, trips and adventure weekends.

With a child being involved in a traffic accident every 19 minutes in Germany, the donation from Genesis will also go toward accident prevention campaigns and training sessions for children and drivers. These will include teaching children about the dangers of blind spots, the importance of high-visibility clothing and safety equipment, and educating transport companies on safer driving practices in residential communities.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., Sept. 16, 2024 — The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has announced that the 2025 Genesis GV70 and the 2024 Electrified GV70 SUVs earned TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) designations for vehicles built after April 2024, making Genesis the automotive brand with the most TSP+ ratings as of September 2024. 

The TSP+ award identifies the best vehicle choices for safety within their respective categories. This year’s evaluation upgraded the GV70 and the Electrified GV70 from their prior TOP SAFETY PICK ratings.

**Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) is designed to notify drivers of approaching cross-traffic behind their vehicles. When another vehicle is detected while you are backing out of a parking spot, it provides audible and visual display warnings and applies braking if it senses a collision is imminent. RCCA is active when the vehicle is in reverse gear and backing at a speed of less than 6 miles per hour. It only engages during the first activation of reverse gear from park and may not detect all vehicles, depending on the size, angle, distance and speed of the other vehicle. Never rely exclusively on RCCA. Always look over your shoulder and use your mirrors to confirm rear clearance. There are limitations to the function, detection, range and clarity of the system. ***Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA) helps the driver by warning of other cars in the blind spot region and can apply braking to help prevent an unsafe lane change. It senses the rear side territory of the vehicle when it is traveling over 20 miles per hour. There are limitations to the function, range, detection and clarity of the system. It will not detect all vehicles or objects in the blind spot. Its operation depends on the size, distance, angle and relative speed difference between your car and other cars. BCA may not operate if sensors are obscured in any way. Do not rely exclusively on BCA. BCA is a supplemental system and the driver must still be attentive and exercise caution when driving. It is important to always signal, look over your shoulder and through your mirrors before changing lanes. The 2024 Electrified GV70 is comprehensively equipped with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, navigation system with a 14.5-inch HD screen, 20-inch alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof, leather seating and heated and ventilated seats.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., July 25, 2024 — JD Power today released its 2024 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, naming the 2024 Genesis GV60 top small premium SUV for the second consecutive year. The model topped the study in six categories: powertrain, driving comfort, interior, driving feel, getting in/out and setting up/starting.

CHICHESTER, England, July 11, 2024 — The Genesis GV60 Magma Concept will make its global dynamic debut today at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, marking the first time that a Magma model is shown in action since the high-performance program officially launched in March. 

The dynamic debut, led by Genesis Brand Partner and racing legend Jacky Ickx on the Goodwood hillclimb, will come as the brand announced earlier today that the Genesis GV60 Magma is on track to enter production soon, becoming the first Magma model to do so. Sales are targeted to commence in Korea during the third quarter of next year, with Europe to follow in the fourth quarter.

3 Dynamic Debuts 

The GV60 Magma Concept is among several vehicles within the Genesis Magma program showcased at this year’s Goodwood, including the Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept, which will also make its global dynamic debut today on the Goodwood hillclimb. 

The Genesis G70 Track Taxi Nordschleife — an enhanced G70 3.3T model designed specifically for passenger rides at the fabled Nürburgring track in Germany — will be seen in action for the first time in the UK. 

Production for GV60 Magma Aimed at Q3 2025 

The GV60 Magma Concept was globally unveiled for the first time at Genesis House New York on March 25, as the brand announced the official launch of its high-performance program. 

With Magma, Genesis ultimately aims to develop a high-end variant of each model within the existing lineup, maximizing both aesthetics and performance. 

The GV60 Magma Concept elevates the design and performance of the existing Genesis GV60 — the brand’s first dedicated EV model — with improved battery and motor technology, along with meticulous attention to detail in terms of chassis, aerodynamics and thermodynamics. To enhance stability during sporty driving, the car has been widened and lowered, giving it a more dynamic stance and allowing for a lower center of gravity. 

The GV60 Magma, set to hit sales in Korea next year as an EV model, will closely resemble the concept model, with necessary modifications made to comply with regional regulations. 

Genesis Magma to Feature Various Exclusive Components 

Compared to the existing lineup, production models within the Genesis Magma program will be equipped with various specialized features aimed at enhancing the joy of sporty driving while ensuring effortless comfort. 

Magma models will exhibit a wider and lower body design, paired with exclusive chassis and suspension components that have been thoughtfully engineered to elevate overall performance and provide an unmatched driving sensation unique to Magma vehicles. 

An authentic, Magma-exclusive sound system will provide a rich, dynamic auditory experience that further boosts the excitement of every ride. 

Magma production models will also introduce a compelling and immersive human-machine interface (HMI) built upon a distinct graphical user interface (GUI). Genesis at Goodwood 

Genesis has participated in Goodwood for four consecutive years, captivating audiences at the UK’s largest automotive festival with exciting vehicle showcases and launches. 

The Genesis stand at this year’s event is the largest yet, a two-story installation facing the First Glance Paddock near the hillclimb starting line. Drawing inspiration from the design concept of the “Aesthetics of Boundaries,” the open pavilion seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces, creating an inviting atmosphere that attracts visitors to capture and embrace the true essence of Korean sentiments.

The Nürburgring is Germany's famous racetrack and one of the most legendary auto-racing circuits in the world. FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 3, 2024 — The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) announced that the 2024 Genesis G80 sedan and G90 flagship sedan have earned TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) recognition. 
 

The TSP+ award applies to 2024 model-year vehicles built after October 2023, when Genesis modified the rear seat belts in the G80 and G90 to improve rear occupant protection. Cars built before that date still qualify for the TOP SAFETY PICK award. 

IIHS’ top safety award identifies the best vehicle choices for safety within size categories during a given year. This year’s evaluation upgraded G80 and G90 from their previous TOP SAFETY PICK ranking. G80 and G90 now join the 2024 GV60 and GV80 with top honors.

To earn the TSP+ award this year, an acceptable or good rating in the updated moderate overlap front test is required, while a good rating in the original moderate overlap front test remains sufficient for the lower-tier TOP SAFETY PICK.
