FRANKFURT, Germany, July 16, 2026 —Genesis’ first all-electric high-performance car, GV60 Magma, has joined the enhanced Genesis G70 sporty saloon, expanding the brand’s successful Nordschleife Track Taxi program.

The public will be able to experience the thrilling performance of the new Genesis GV60 Magma before it officially arrives on the road in Europe later this year.

Launched in 2024, the Track Taxi program offers passenger rides around one of the world’s most famous and technically demanding racetracks. Germany’s Nürburgring is 20.832 kilometers long, with 73 complex corners and a constantly changing road surface.

Since the program’s inception, nearly 3,000 Genesis guests have been driven around the Nürburgring in one of two modified G70 cars; the saloon was chosen as the first Track Taxi for its dynamic drivability and performance personality. With a professional Genesis driver at the wheel, passengers experienced the sporty saloon’s 272-kilowatt, 510-newton-meter 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 and thrilling 5.4-second 0–100 kilometer-per-hour acceleration.

In total, the two G70 cars — which will continue to be used alongside GV60 Magma — have completed 1,300 laps of the racetrack, equivalent to 27,081.6 kilometers, using more than 180 sets of tires. The duo, chosen for the program due to their dynamic drivability and performance personality combined with excellent track composure and passenger comfort, are a compelling demonstration of robust engineering, outstanding build quality and long-term reliability.

Now, guests can also enjoy a new all-electric Track Taxi Nordschleife experience in the GV60 Magma. Featuring two enhanced electric motors – one per axle – that each spin to over 20,000 rotations per minute, and an all-wheel drive configuration, the performance SUV has a powerful output of 478 kilowatts and 790 newton-meters.

With Boost Mode activated, the GV60 Magma can accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour in just 3.4 seconds, reaching 200 kilometers per hour in only 10.9 seconds. Top speed is achieved at 265 kilometers per hour.

To manage this impressive performance, the GV60 Magma is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 tires and a unique braking system that is equal to the demands of its high-output powertrain. It combines performance-optimized regenerative braking control with large 400-millimeter disc brakes, monoblock calipers and an Anti-lock Brake System to produce enough stopping power to bring the car to a halt from 100 kilometers per hour in just 33.8 meters.

Key to the GV60 Magma’s dynamic character is a state-of-the-art torque vectoring system, which has been designed to ensure the car’s movements remain predictable and intuitively controllable, even under the extreme driving conditions of the Nordschleife.

Additionally, an electronic Limited-Slip Differential will work alongside the torque vectoring system to actively distribute torque between the front and rear motors to reduce understeer and oversteer, important when tackling the Green Hell.

To add to the experience, the GV60 Magma has a specifically developed electric Active Sound Design system that delivers a lifelike and authentic engine tone. Front-seat passengers will also experience Genesis’ new 10-way bucket seat, unique to GV60 Magma, which has been designed for improved support and comfort during high-performance driving.

This significant improvement reflects continued progress across the Genesis lineup and a strong showing in key vehicle segments.

Genesis delivered exceptional results across multiple categories, including top three finishes for the G70 compact premium car, G80 upper midsize premium car and GV80 upper midsize premium SUV. These recognitions underscore the brand’s ongoing focus on craftsmanship, engineering and owner satisfaction in the first 90 days of ownership.

Overall industry initial quality improved significantly year over year, with fewer problems reported across nine of 10 categories evaluated.

JD Power’s 2026 study is based on responses from 78,514 purchasers and lessees of new 2026 model-year vehicles.

DRIVING A GENESIS, LIVING THE 'SON-NIM' LIFE

SEOUL, April 8, 2025 — In the world of luxury cars, Genesis has masterfully carved out its own niche, not just with beautifully designed vehicles but also through a unique approach to customer experiences.

“Long-distance comfort is very important to me because I travel a lot for business when I meet with customers,” Wacht says.

“It’s perfect,” says Robert. “They're extremely respectful of my schedule and my time.”

So far, owning a Genesis has been nothing but wonderful, he says.

“My job is extremely busy and stressful, and I find when I have that transition time from leaving the office to home, getting in the comfort of my car is a wonderful experience,” he says. “The ride is the quietest ride I’ve ever had.”

When buying a Genesis, Doug was particularly impressed that he got answers to all his questions — a quality that’s ironically hard to find these days.

“That wasn’t always the case with the vehicles that I’ve bought [in the past],” Doug confides. “I just love that they care and value me as a true customer.”

“The G70’s Comfort and Sport modes are a game changer. I stick to Comfort Mode for longer drives, but Sport Mode really shines on windy cottage trips, tightening up the suspension and making the car feel like a performance vehicle.”

Some other favorite features include the Head-Up Display (HUD) navigation, seat extender and the ability to start the vehicle and adjust the climate from his phone, the last of which is particularly useful in coping with the unpredictable weather of Ontario, Canada, where he lives.

FRANKFURT, Germany, Feb. 25, 2025 — Genesis Motor Europe has donated over €53,000 to the German children’s charity Aktion Kinder-Unfallhilfe e.V.

The donation was made possible by the success of the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife program and marks a crucial step in the ongoing development of the brand’s corporate social responsibility initiatives in Europe. The program, which returns to the Nürburgring in Germany on March 8, offers passenger rides to the public in a modified G70 at one of the world’s most thrilling racetracks.

With a child being involved in a traffic accident every 19 minutes in Germany, the donation from Genesis will also go toward accident prevention campaigns and training sessions for children and drivers. These will include teaching children about the dangers of blind spots, the importance of high-visibility clothing and safety equipment, and educating transport companies on safer driving practices in residential communities.

The dynamic debut, led by Genesis Brand Partner and racing legend Jacky Ickx on the Goodwood hillclimb, will come as the brand announced earlier today that the Genesis GV60 Magma is on track to enter production soon, becoming the first Magma model to do so. 3 Dynamic Debuts

The GV60 Magma Concept is among several vehicles within the Genesis Magma program showcased at this year’s Goodwood, including the Genesis G80 EV Magma Concept, which will also make its global dynamic debut today on the Goodwood hillclimb.

Production for GV60 Magma Aimed at Q3 2025

The GV60 Magma Concept was globally unveiled for the first time at Genesis House New York on March 25, as the brand announced the official launch of its high-performance program.

With Magma, Genesis ultimately aims to develop a high-end variant of each model within the existing lineup, maximizing both aesthetics and performance.

The GV60 Magma Concept elevates the design and performance of the existing Genesis GV60 — the brand’s first dedicated EV model — with improved battery and motor technology, along with meticulous attention to detail in terms of chassis, aerodynamics and thermodynamics. To enhance stability during sporty driving, the car has been widened and lowered, giving it a more dynamic stance and allowing for a lower center of gravity.

Genesis at Goodwood

TAKING SAFETY TO NEW HEIGHTS WITH OPTICAL TECHNOLOGY

SEOUL, March 19, 2024 — Optical technology is revolutionizing automotive safety and convenience features, transforming the driving experience. Hyundai Motor Group (the Group) has been at the forefront of this evolution, making profound advancements in incorporating cutting-edge optical technology into its vehicles.

Intelligent Front-Lighting System

Since the introduction of LED light sources, the design and utility of headlamps have taken significant steps forward, quickly replacing halogens and high intensity discharge (HID) lamps.

LEDs offer excellent visibility, quick response and high energy efficiency. As compact light sources, LEDs give automakers more freedom to design and configure their models, with the ability to be individually controlled when linked with sensors and cameras. The Group has leveraged these advanced features in its development of the Intelligent Front-Lighting System (IFS).

While high beams provide better visibility on quiet, dark roads at night, the glare they emit impairs the vision of oncoming vehicles. General high-beam assist technology addresses this issue by automatically switching off the high beams when another vehicle approaches, but the Group’s IFS takes this technology to the next level.

The IFS featured in the Genesis G80, G90, and GV80 models utilizes information from the front camera to recognize surrounding vehicles, partially dimming the LED headlamps accordingly. It maintains the high beam except for areas where other vehicles are present, allowing continuous visibility. The IFS is an improvement over high-beam assist systems that simply turn off the high beams when another vehicle is detected.

Digital Side Mirror

The Digital Side Mirror (DSM) system is another prime example of the Group’s innovative use of optical technology. DSM technology, available as an option in the Genesis GV60, revolutionizes the conventional side mirror by utilizing high-definition cameras and OLED monitors as replacements.

One notable drawback of traditional side mirrors is their limitation in providing a clear rear view during night-time or in bad weather. The high-resolution camera of DSMs, however, ensures a clear view even in low-light situations. The indoor OLED monitor effectively solves visibility issues caused by rain, snow, or other adverse weather conditions.

The DSM system further enhances safety by offering a viewing angle that is 11 degrees wider than that of conventional side mirrors, reducing blind spots and thus lowering the risk of accidents.

Benefits of DSM are also evident during parking. Vehicles equipped with DSMs can activate the rear parking screen enlargement function when in reverse. When the car is within 1 meter of an obstacle, orange parking assistance lines appear on the screen, and when within 0.5 meters, red lines show up.

With aerodynamic designs being crucial for maximizing EV mileage, DSM technology is prone to grow more significant in the EV era in terms of functionality and design.

Avoiding Collisions With Camera Assistance

Radar and ultrasonic sensors are commonly utilized in collision prevention assist functions, but the importance of cameras is growing in recent times. The Group’s Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA) system exemplifies this trend as it incorporates a high-resolution camera to scan the road, alerting drivers when danger is sensed ahead and applying the brakes if necessary.

The latest version of the Group’s FCA systems has been enhanced to include a wider detection range, encompassing pedestrians, cyclists, oncoming vehicles at intersections, and vehicles crossing the driver’s path.

Another technology that leverages front cameras is the Road-Preview Electronic Control Suspension (Preview ECS). By combining front camera data with navigation map information, the system can analyze and evaluate road conditions in real time, adjusting the suspension’s damping force accordingly.

Preview ECS comes with a high-performance electronic control unit (ECU), which performs calculations up to 100 times per second. Based on the results, Preview ECS adjusts the damping force at 0.001-second intervals, effectively reducing shock and vibration for an exceptionally comfortable ride experience.

Some latest models of the Group, such as the Genesis G90, are equipped with Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA) for the front, rear and side detection areas. Models with this feature include a wide-angle camera mounted on the front grille, side mirrors and trunk lid, which identify blind spots for safer driving.

3D Instrument Cluster

As cars undergo digital transformation, analog elements within the cabin are gradually vanishing. Traditional buttons on the center fascia are being replaced by sleek touch displays. The classic engine vitality indicators represented by sharp needles on the instrument panel are being substituted with digital screens.

But not everyone is a fan of this transition. While the digital instrument panel may offer a wealth of information, some say they lack the visual appeal of its predecessor.

To address this issue, the Genesis G70 introduced the world’s first 12.3-inch 3D cluster, a feature that adds a stereoscopic effect to the car’s digital instrument panel by implementing the illusion of depth with 2D imagery. The screen is built with eye-tracking technology to accomplish the effect without the need for glasses.

Power 2022 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, marking the second such instance in only its third year of eligibility. Today’s announcement follows two consecutive years of category-specific awards, with G80 being named best midsize premium car in the 2021 and 2020 studies.

Comprehensive Style Update for the Most Athletic Genesis Sport Sedan

The most athletic sport sedan offered by Genesis, the award winning G70 receives a performance and styling update.

Upfront, the new G70 gains the brand’s signature Quad Lamps, featuring super thin LED lamps that stretch outward like the wings of the Genesis emblem. The low-slung Crest Grille evokes an aggressive stance that emphasizes the G70’s performance character.

Viewed from the side, the new G70’s profile retains the familiar long hood and short front overhang, communicating its agility even when parked. Four all-new wheel designs further enhance its presence, and a new air extractor positioned aft of the front wheel is designed to optimize airflow efficiency. The Parabolic Line adds an elegant touch over the muscular surfaces, just like a tailored suit for a world-class athlete.

This is the first time that Genesis has received two of the coveted awards.

The Safest Car of the Year is awarded through Korean New Car Assessment Program (KNCAP) by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The G70 received the best score (92.9 points) in the mid sedan category and perfect scores in both front and side crash safety, pedestrian protection and its advanced driver-assistance systems. This is the first time that a Genesis vehicle was awarded ‘Safest Car of the Year.’

The organization evaluated the G70 based on its design innovation, user benefits and social responsibility.

G70 is available with either an up-level 365 horsepower, 3.3-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine or a 252 horsepower, 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. No matter the driving situation, G70 raises the bar for the luxury sport sedan segment, with a 0-to-60 mph time of 4.5 seconds (3.3T RWD, using Launch Control).

GENESIS RECEIVES ADC DESIGN AWARD FROM ART DIRECTORS CLUB GERMANY

HAMBURG, Germany, April 26, 2018 — Genesis earned a prestigious Art Directors Club Germany (ADC) design award for “G70 Seoul 2017,” the brand’s festival launch presentation of the Genesis G70 sport sedan in Seoul, South Korea. The award recognizes the event production as one that “set new benchmarks” in branded communication and set design.

“We are extremely proud to be recognized by the Art Directors Club in Germany with the global G70 launch in 2017,” said Manfred Fitzgerald, Global Head of the Genesis Brand. “It was a truly special moment for Genesis, to celebrate the brand with the Korean community at the place of its origin. The festival, which took place in September 2017 and was attended by more than 10,000 people, was the first event of its kind in South Korea to introduce an all-new model outside of an auto show setting. The roster of performers included Gwen Stefani, Andra Day and CL on one stage.

According to the deciding jury, “The minimalistic set design lays a new milestone in the category of world premieres for the automotive industry.” The award-winning, minimalistic design concept, which featured motion design that played across high-resolution LED surfaces that covered the ceiling, floor, and back wall, was devised by brand experience agency, Blackspace.

Founded in 1964, ADC Germany awards Nail prizes annually in 36 categories for the best work in communication and design. This is the first year that Genesis has been awarded a Nail.

G70 in Premier and Elegance are aggregated by a power engine with a capacity of 197 hp. For Advance and Supreme both engines are available. The G70 in Sport version is available with a 247 hp engine.

Genesis designers specified genuine brushed aluminum surfaces, quilted Nappa leather seats, stainless steel speaker grilles, and premium stitched soft-touch surfaces throughout the interior. An optional 15-speaker Lexicon high-fidelity audio system with QuantumLogic® surround-processing technology transforms any audio source into a rich and immersive listening experience.

In the U.S. market, G70 will be available with three powertrain configurations and five trim packages, ranging from the well-equipped Advanced to range-topping Sport. A choice of two engines will be available: a 252-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder, and a 365-hp 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V-6. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. An 8-speed, sport-tuned automatic with standard steering wheel mounted paddle-shifters is available with either engine. Respecting the segment’s sporting heritage and cadre of driving-oriented enthusiasts, Genesis will offer an optional 6-speed manual gearbox with the 2.0T RWD model. For easy access to maximum acceleration off the line, all automatic G70 models feature a launch control system.

All G70 models ride on a MacPherson multi-link front and multi-link rear suspension with a performance-oriented geometry, offering optimal wheel control and a finely-tuned balance between ride comfort and handling prowess. The G70’s mass is managed via various aluminum components, including an aluminum hood. The G70 2.0T and 3.3T models equipped with the Dynamic package are further enhanced by the inclusion of a mechanical limited slip differential that improves traction on corner exit by balancing torque distribution across the rear axle when wheel spin is detected. G70 3.3T models feature variable gear ratio steering for agile directional response, and 3.3T Sport models add electronically controlled suspension for greater driver adjustability.

Experiencing G70 is customizable to each driver’s preference, with five available drive modes. Adjustable elements include: powertrain response, steering weight, engine sound, all-wheel drive torque distribution, and suspension firmness. Custom-drive mode further adjusts a variety of vehicle parameters to suit preferences or driving conditions.

Optional high-performance Brembo® brakes feature fixed calipers (four-piston front, two-piston rear), ensuring exceptional stopping power and good fade resistance, thanks to 13.8-inch ventilated front rotors. On models featuring 19-inch wheels, Michelin Pilot Sport 4® tires provide sharp turn-in response and strong lateral grip.

Like the other models in the Genesis sedan lineup, G70 offers an unparalleled amount of standard active- and passive-safety equipment. GENESIS G70 WINS 2018 IF DESIGN AWARD FOR AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCT DESIGN

SEOUL, Feb. 22, 2018 — Genesis G70 received the 2018 iF Design award for automotive product design presented by the World Design Guide. This marks the first iF Design award win for Genesis, since the 2015 launch of the luxury brand.

“We are very proud that the World Design Guide recognized the G70 as a leader in automotive design,” said Executive Vice President Luc Donckerwolke, Head of Genesis Design. “As a design-driven brand, Genesis will continue to progress the art of athletic and elegance throughout our current and future product.”

The iF Design award honors the G70 for excellence in automotive design. The G70 expands the brand’s appeal in a performance-driven direction, with sporty character lines and strong, sculpted surfacing. Its main character line, the “Parabolic Line,” carves along the side leaving constant tension across its muscular body. The visual relationship between the crest grille and headlamps defines the Genesis signature face. Proudly above the grille sits the iconic Genesis logo.

Presented by the World Design Guide, the iF Design award is one of the world’s most important prizes for excellence in design. In 2018, companies from 54 countries submitted 6,402 products to be judged by an independent international jury of 63 design experts.

Genesis designed the G70 with the global luxury consumer in mind. Sales began in South Korea in September 2017, with additional market launches planned in spring 2018.
